Newborn pictures. Should be easy right? All they do is sit there and sleep.
You see pictures where they’re posed oh so perfectly and you think.
Since we’re on the subject of easy I was sadly mistaken by the fact I thought photography was easy. I’ve since learned that making a fool of yourself to get kids to smile? Not the funnest thing in the world. And then there’s all to remember that goes into making a good photo. Make sure your focus point is always on the correct persons eye. Make sure your aperture isn’t set to narrow and your shutter speed isn’t to slow. Make sure your composition is just right. Yadda yadda yadda oh and make sure you tell people exactly how to pose themselves cuz the minute you put a camera in front of someone’s face they suddenly loose all understanding of what to do with each and every one of their limbs and how to smile without it looking painful or like they’re trying too hard to be a model and if you say “Just act natural!” and then they give you a look that says, “Natural? I’m sorry I don’t really understand what you mean.”
Instead they give you a look like this.
And this….
So you have to come up continually be coming up with ideas so that when moments like this arise? You can catch them!
It’s ok! We ALL do it. Heck you’d think even I’d know what to do!

And I just kinda like this picture below so I’ll just share it. ps boyfriend shirts are my new favorite thing! Helloooo comfort!
So anywho, my point is, It’s not easy and I thought it was gonna be a cinch. You’d think I would of known that. One thing I’ve learned by now is that photography is FAR from easy.
These pics were taken in about 13 minutes right before thanksgiving dinner started. Of course he didn’t sleep for us and I needed two assistants just to get the shots that I did above.
Yeahhh, def not easy. But it is fun!

Ashley - Okay so now I can comment on this post!! These pictures are so adorable! Pam has some cute boys and they all like so much a like to me!! You need to get practiced up on newborns so you can do mine! I guess by the time that comes around you’ll have had done a few other babies too!! 😉
