I woke up exactly on time and that doesn’t happen very often. I was determined to be the most organized version of myself I could possibly be that day and that started with waking up exactly on time. Once Lene was in the shower, I went to the window and saw nothing but sunny blue skies and sighed a breath of Oh no. For both Lene and I, if there’s one thing we’ve said we always wanted on our wedding days, it’s clouds. The day carried on nonetheless though, and like so many other days before, Lene and I got ready together for the day. The difference was on that day, Lene was the one getting married. There’s something so exciting and heartbreaking to one of your best friends getting married. You are so incredibly happy for them, and selfishly, so depressed about it at the same time. That day I will remember vividly not only for the details of how hot it was, how yummy the food was, how amazing the venue at Heritage Park was, but for how I felt. So incredibly bursting with happiness with a side of sad.
Lene, thank you for being the best of the best by my side for so many weddings. I couldn’t have asked for a better second shooter/assistant/therapist/best friend, and I really can’t wait to come visit you!
Without further ado, here is Lene and Paul’s beautiful Calgary wedding. They had their dinner at Heritage Park in Calgary in the Railway Orientation Centre. Lene and her mother together sewed her beautiful dress, which Lene designed herself. Her florist was Flower Artistry. Also, I now offer a variety of digital and film photos for those interested in my wedding day packages. I have been in love with film photography for a while now, but I am just not ready to give up my digital comfort. So I decided to marry the two together and just offer hybrid packages. I can’t wait to dig into film even more!
